Latin American Chamber of Commerce Singapore and FEDEFRUTA (Chile) forge stronger ties with the signing of memorandum of understanding

SINGAPORE — The Latin American Chamber of Commerce Singapore (LatAmCham) and the Federation of Fruit Producers of Chile (FEDEFRUTA) have formalized their commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The signing ceremony took place on July 21, 2020, in Singapore, marking a pivotal moment in the collaboration between these two influential organizations.

Representatives from LatAmCham, led by Angela Torres H., CEO & Founder of LatAmCham, and FEDEFRUTA, represented by Jorge Valenzuela Trebilcock, President of FEDEFRUTA, gathered at the signing ceremony to solidify the partnership.

The MOU signifies a commitment to strengthen economic and trade relations between Singapore and Chile, with a particular focus on fostering cooperation in the fruit industry. Key components of the agreement include:

Market Access and Trade Facilitation: LatAmCham and FEDEFRUTA will collaborate to identify and explore avenues for expanding market access for Chilean fruits in Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian region. The Federation of Fruit Producers of Chile is a non-profit trade association whose mission is to defend all its representatives, more than 28,000 producers, support them, and make their issues known to all authorities, raising awareness to public opinion about the importance of agriculture, and the need for development to continue with this vital activity in Chile, which employs nearly 450,000 people each season, and generates US3.9 billion in income in exports alone.
